God Does Not Give Us A Spirit Of Fear, But Courage.
Fear will get the best of all of us at some point in our lives, and this natural reaction to situations can be harrowing and difficult to work through. Through God’s word in the Bible we can find courage in the bible to overcome these scary situations. A few passages should always be kept on hand to remind us of the courage that God has instilled in each and every one of us. These passages can be kept in a small notebook, your smartphone, or anywhere you can access them when you need them most. They can be used to inspire you to overcome whatever is giving you fear.
A few Bible passages we think you can use to provide you with a little extra courage are:
- Deuteronomy 31:6 – “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”When fear begins to overcome you, remember your strength and your courage, and keep in mind that God is with you always to make sure you can handle any situation. The Lord will never fail you, and you’ll make it through always.
- Hebrews 13:5-6 – “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. People can do nothing to me.”People have no power over God, and with God by your side, they cannot do anything to harm you. Keeping this in mind, you’ll remember that with the power of the Lord by your side, others will give you nothing to fear.
- Exodus 14:14 – “The LORD is fighting for you! So be still!”When you feel afraid and alone, you’ll feel better knowing that with the Lord, you always have someone in your corner. God always fights for you, not against you, and he can carry you through anything.
- Proverbs 29:25 – “The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.”As long as you place your trust in God, you will be safe, and He will protect you against all harms of man. Fearing man won’t get you anywhere, and by putting your trust into God will save you from this needless stress with the courage of knowing you’re always protected.
