Jesus Participated And Encouraged Christian Fellowship.

Christian Fellowship is a word that’s heard quite a bit where faith is concerned, so what is fellowship exactly? By dictionary definition, fellowship refers to friendly association with other who share similar interests. In faith, this means joining others who share a love for God and a deep interest to learn and connect with His word. Christian Fellowship brings a whole lot to your faith, and we as Christians weren’t meant to follow God’s path alone.

The importance of Christian fellowship in Christ is an idea that is outlined in the Bible many times. Just a few passages to support the importance of faith fellowship are:

  • 1 John 1:7 – “but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.”
  • Philemon 1:6 – “and I pray that the fellowship of your faith may become effective through the knowledge of every good thing which is in you for Christ’s sake.”
  • Ephesians 5:19 – “speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord”

With fellowship, you’re not only bringing God’s love to others, you’re supporting one another and helping each other to better live in the path that God has carved for us. You gain from fellowship friendship and love, but also a better way to understand different viewpoints and different methods of feeling and practicing your faith.

This short video gives an excellent visual of Christian fellowship:

Christian Fellowship can come in the form of a bible study group, a church group, or a Bible-based activity group. The friendships made through fellowship are strengthened by the power and the bond of faith in God. Through fellowship, you can expect to learn more about the Bible while gaining a wider understanding. You are also building friendships with fellow Christians that have a strength only He can provide!
