What will heaven be like are we going to be spirit beings floating around in the clouds will everybody get to heaven find out as I present to you 12 facts about heaven that you probably didn’t know fact number one heaven will be better than we can imagine 1st Corinthians chapter 2 verse 9 says but as it is written eye hath not seen nor ear heard neither have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for them that love him heaven is going to be so wonderful that we can’t even imagine it fortunately the Bible does describe some aspects of heaven to look forward to but we will not be able to fully appreciate it until we get there fact number two we will have physical bodies we will not be taken to heaven as spirits or something like that the Bible indicates that we will have physical bodies take Jesus for example after he is sent into heaven after his resurrection and then came back down to earth he told the Apostles in Luke chapter 24 verse 39 behold my hands and my feet that it is I myself handle me and see for a spirit hath not flesh and bones as ye see me have jesus was in his glorified body and people were able to touch him therefore he had a physical body and the Bible says that he was the firstfruits of those who have died this means that he was the first example 1st Corinthians chapter 15 verse 20 and 23 state but now is Christ risen from the dead and become the firstfruits of them that slept but every man in his own order Christ the firstfruits afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming therefore we will have a body similar to Jesus’s physical body we’re about the type of body we will have is found in 1st Corinthians chapter 15 verses 15 through 54 it reads now this I say brethren that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God neither doth corruption inherit incorruption in other words the physical body that we have now the one that suffers from death from corruption will not be the one we take to heaven behold I show you a mystery we shall not all sleep but we shall all be changed that means in order for us to make it into heaven our bodies need to be changed in a moment in the twinkling of an eye at the last Trump for the trumpet shall sound and the dead shall be raised incorruptible and we shall be changed for this corruptible must put on incorruption and this mortal must put on immortality strictly speaking the change that we will experience is receiving a new body which will be immortal so when this corruption shall have put on incorruption and this mortal shall have put on immortality then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written death is swallowed up in victory that is there will be no more death is it that great news we will receive new physical immortal bodies upon entering into heaven fact number three we will recognize each other some people have the impression that we won’t be able to recognize each other once we get to heaven the God will wipe our memories clean or something like that but in speaking about when we get to heaven first Corinthians chapter 13 verse 12 says for now we see through a glass darkly but then face to face now I know in part but then shall I know even as I am known we will recognize others and they will recognize us as well some people don’t know how it’s possible to appreciate heaven if we still have memories of this fallen and sinful world maybe I can put that into perspective you see I spent eight years in the federal prison and was released six years ago that time in prison was the most difficult and unpleasant period of my life but since I’ve been released from prison thoughts from that period of my life hardly ever occupy my mind why because life is so much better now that my life in prison pales in comparison heaven will be the same heaven will be so much better than our lives here that this life will be just a thing of the past a distant memory fact number four there will be no marriages in heaven the Jewish religious leaders asked Jesus if a woman had seven husbands whose wife would she be in the resurrection jesus answered in Matthew chapter 22 verse 30 saying for in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage but are as the angels of God in heaven that may come as a disappointment to most and possibly a relief to others but I don’t think this should be a cause for concern because whatever God is going to replace marriage with I’m sure it’s going to be incredible it’s going to have to be fact number five in heaven there will be no suffering in pain speaking about the redeemed in heaven Revelation chapter 21 verse 4 States and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes and there shall be no more death neither sorrow nor crying neither shall there be any more pain for the former things are passed away can you imagine that no more loved ones passing away no violence on the news every day no depression heaven and to be more specific the new earth which is where we will ultimately live will be a place of eternal peace and a joy fact number 6 we will live in the New Jerusalem when we will be taken to heaven we will stay in a city called the New Jerusalem for example before his ascension Jesus said in John chapter 14 verse 2 and my father’s house are many mansions if it were not so I would have told you I go to prepare a place for you that place that Jesus is going to prepare for us is called a city in Hebrews chapter 11 verse 16 speaking of the redeemed it states where for God is not ashamed to be called their God for he has prepared for them a city and if we cross-reference that to Revelation chapter 21 verse 2 we find out that city is called the New Jerusalem it states and I John saw the holy city New Jerusalem coming down from God out of heaven prepared as a bride adorned for her husband according to Revelation chapter 21 and 22 the New Jerusalem is a huge city measuring 1,500 miles across and high with streets of gold pearly gates 24 hours of illumination a huge River The Tree of Life which was taken up from the Garden of Eden and God’s throne will be there and we will see God face to face fact number 7 we will not live in heaven forever according to Revelation chapter 20 we will spend one thousand years in heaven John stated in verse four that the saved lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years the purpose of this thousand year reign is to participate in the judgment of God speaking of the redeemed verse four says and I saw Thrones and they sat upon them and judgment was given unto them now I’m not going to go into the details of the judgment in this video because that’s a subject for another video but after the thousand years are complete at the New Jerusalem will descend from heaven to earth according to Revelation chapter 21 verse 2 which states and I John saw the holy city New Jerusalem coming down from God out of heaven prepared as a bride adorned for her husband at this time the wicked will be raised from the dead to receive their punishment destruction in the lake of fire that’s why verse 5 says but the rest of the Dead meaning the wicked since all of the saved are in the New Jerusalem lived not again until the thousand years were finished the wicked dead are resurrected at this time and who knows what condition they don’t get glorified bodies like the righteous do so they may just be patched up enough to function then they conspire with the devil to overthrow the City of God which just proves they have no redeemable qualities they followed Satan in life and now they even follow him in death and verse 9 tells us what happens next and they went up on the breadth of the earth and compass the camp of the saints about and the beloved city and fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them they are destroyed in a lake of fire verse 14 even goes so far as the coldest ii yet after that God will create a new heaven and a new earth John saw this in Revelation chapter 21 verse 1 stating and I saw a new heaven and a new earth for the first heaven and the first Earth were passed away and there was no more seed fact number 8 the new earth is paradise restored God will create a new earth to restore what Adam and Eve lost before the fall paradise we could find some details about the new earth in Isaiah chapter 65 verses 17 through 24 it says we will build houses and inhabit them and plant vine yards and eat the fruit of them we will have direct contact with God and the wolf and the land shall feed together in other words animals and people will peacefully coexist for eternity fact number 9 Jesus is the only way to heaven if we want to get into heaven we need to accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior Jesus made this undeniably clear in John chapter 14 verse 6 when he said I am the way the truth and the life no man cometh unto the father but by me the reason is because sin causes separation between us and God in Isaiah chapter 59 verse 2 the prophet Isaiah said to the disobedient but your iniquities have separated between you and your God and your sins have hid his face from you that he will not hear the Bible also makes it evident that nothing sinful can enter through the gates of heaven Revelation chapter 21 verse 27 states and there shall in no wise enter into it anything that defileth neither whatsoever worketh abomination or maketh the lie but they which are written in a lamb’s book of life this is because God is a holy God and nothing sinful can stand in his presence several times in the Bible God says I am holy therefore be holy but how can we be holy the Bible tells us that we are all born sinful by nature the sir is Jesus Christ Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay the price for our sins which is death and to cleanse us from our sins so that we can stand wholly in the presence of God if we repent from our sins and confess them to God in the name of Jesus Christ the Bible promises that we will be forgiven first John chapter 1 verse 9 says if we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness if you’d like to learn more about Jesus and the Bible please His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life if we believe in Jesus Christ if we accept him as our Lord and Savior we will make it into heaven we don’t have to go to hell as a matter of fact Matthew chapter 25 verse 41 says hell is prepared for the devil and his angels hell is not intended for people but at the same time God gives us the freedom of choice and if we decide to reject Jesus then we will end up in hell as well but that is not what God wants far from it the Lord says in Ezekiel chapter 33 verse 11 as I live saith the Lord God I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked but that the wicked turned from his way and live and the jesus said in Luke chapter 12 verse 32 fear not little flock for it is your father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom God wants us to be saved and he wants us to make it into heaven and he’s doing everything in his power to make that possible but ultimately the choice is yours fact number 11 we can’t continue living in willful sin if we want to make it into heaven we can’t continue living in willful sin now don’t get me wrong this is not the same as struggling with your sins and praying to God to forgive you when you are convicted of your sins and repenting from them in those cases God will forgive you but if you have known sin in your life that you don’t repent from and you don’t ask God to forgive you because you want to keep sinning you will be lost the Bible makes this clear in Revelation chapter 22 verse 14 through 15 stating blessed are they that do His commandments that they may have right to the Tree of Life and may enter in through the gates into the city for without are dogs and sorcerers and whoremongers and murderers and idolaters and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie some people might claim this is unfair and unloving but is it really heaven is a place of peace and harmony and if you send people there who don’t want to live in peace and harmony it would be torture for them not only that it would disrupt the atmosphere of heaven and the problem of sin would reoccur back number 12 people don’t go to heaven immediately upon death this is a common misconception the Bible actually teaches that we sleep in the grave until the second coming of Jesus as a matter of fact the word sleep is used to describe the state of the Dead over 50 times in the Bible take first Thessalonians chapter 4 verses 13 through 17 which reads but I would not have you to be ignorant brethren concerning them which are asleep that ye sorrow not even as others which have no hope for if we believe that Jesus died and rose again even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him for this we say unto you by the word of the Lord that we which are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep for the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout with the voice of the Archangel and with the Trump of God and the dead in Christ shall rise first then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord in that passage alone the word sleep is used to describe the state of the Dead three times it tells us that when Jesus comes back he will wake his sleeping Saints to take them to heaven along with those who are alive moreover Jesus himself promised us that it would be at his second coming and no time before that he would take us to heaven in John chapter 14 verses 2 through 3 he said and my father’s house are many mansions if it were not so I would have told you I go to prepare a place for you and if I go and prepare a place for you I will come again and receive you unto myself that where I am there you may be also why do we have to wait until the second coming of Jesus before going to heaven you might be asking it’s because the judgment has to take place first judgment decides whether people go to heaven or hell and the Bible tells us that it won’t be until the second coming of Jesus that the judgment will be executed to determine who goes to heaven 2nd Timothy chapter 4 verse 1 says it is Jesus Christ who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom heaven will be a place of unimaginable splendor we will have physical immortal bodies there will be no more suffering or pain we will all live in peace and harmony with each other and we will see God face to face however there is only one way to get there and that is through Jesus Christ thanks for
